Requirements
NGIT's client is looking for one (1) or more Business Analyst(s) to join the PMO to support various projects. These projects may include: changes to business systems, processes and programs; information technology (IT) and infrastructure; and financial and human resources, all of which impact branches across the ministry, sector partners and the wider community
CBAP is Certification Mandatory for this position.
The position will be located onsite at a office in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada. The intended start date for the role is April 1st, 2024.
The Business Analyst helps business users understand their respective business processes and resolves issues using technology, processes, people, and structure. This position plays an integral and strategic role in organizational success, as they are a key player in helping the business to make informed strategic decisions. They are responsible for managing business requirements and must ensure that requirements are met by project managers, built by software developers, delivered effectively by a secure system of networks, tested by quality control, managed by the data owners, and accepted by the customers and stakeholders.
Within the PMO, Business Analysts are responsible for applying the existing business analysis methodologies and processes to ensure successful contributions of end products as required by the project. Additionally, Business Analysts are encouraged to participate as team members in establishing business analysis methodologies, practices and procedures which further enhance the existing ITD business analysis framework.
The Business Analyst must have a collaborative approach in working with the Project Manager, the business Subject Matter Experts (SME), internal ministry Business Analysts, 3rd party vendor specialists, internal/external deployment team and the Application Management team. A large part of this role involves coaching and mentoring a group of business SMEs throughout the project lifecycle.
The successful individual(s) will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following duties:
Apply a business analysis framework for success.
Document Business Process and Workflow Models (As-Is and To-Be).
Document Use Cases based on Business Process and Workflow Models.
Effectively analyze information, problems, situations, practices or procedures.
Elicit, document, manage and communicate functional and non-functional requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
Analyze business requirements and translate into business rules.
Define and scope the business problem or opportunity and identify solution and/or alternative solutions.
Verify that the solution meets the requirements and quantify the benefits and costs of each solution.
Identify any risks, issues and assumptions with the solution and contribute to an effective control and risk management process.
Work closely with technical teams to ensure their translation of requirements to solutions meet the needs of the users and integrates into the overall GOS architecture.
Act as a liaison between technical teams and SME’s, etc.
Research, develop, and recommend the implementation of new approaches and technological solutions for data and integration services.
Create and document feasibility studies, business cases, technical assessments, RFP requirements, project charters, user manuals, system manuals, policies, processes and procedures, etc.
Create and manage a robust plan for testing that ensures the end product supports business processes.
Create, coordinate and execute test scripts, utilizing formal testing methodologies to verify that system and business applications meet specific requirements.
Perform as Test Lead, to guide the business SMEs through the process of User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to ensure business requirements are sufficiently identified, traced and functional in the finished system.
Provide quality assurance in relation to the accuracy and integrity of the information provided in the solution.
Facilitate meetings and workshops with internal and external stakeholders.
Prepare and deliver presentations to internal and external stakeholders.
Preparing the business for change by conducting organizational readiness activities.
Develop training, training materials and facilitate training for both technical and non-technical audiences.
