Overview:
Client is seeking two skilled Oracle and MS SQL Database Administrators to join their SAP Operations & Enterprise Analytics team. The ideal candidates will have 3 to 5 years of expertise in Oracle and MS SQL databases.
Responsibilities:
Database Installation and Configuration: Install and configure Oracle and MS SQL databases on various operating systems, including setting up database instances, configuring network connectivity, and ensuring optimal performance.
Performance Tuning and Optimization: Monitor and optimize database performance by analyzing performance metrics, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing tuning techniques.
Backup and Recovery Plans: Create and maintain backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and availability, including scheduling and monitoring regular backups.
Security Management: Implement and maintain security measures to protect databases from unauthorized access and threats, including configuring user authentication, authorization, and encryption settings.
Database Health Checks and Monitoring: Conduct regular health checks and monitoring to ensure smooth database operations, identify issues, and generate health reports.
Technical Documentation: Create technical documentation and user guides for new systems and updates.
System Administration: Work with Microsoft Server, Azure and related products from a system administration perspective, including proficiency in VMware, Azure, and Windows Administration.
Security Management: Ensuring the security of systems by setting up and managing permissions.
Qualifications:
Mandatory:
Microsoft Certified Professional or equivalent
Oracle Certified Professional or equivalent
Proficiency in VMware
Proficiency in Azure and Windows Administration
3 to 5 years of expertise in Oracle and MS SQL
Experience with projects and support that include Microsoft Server, Azure and related products.
Ability to create technical documentation and user guides for new systems or updates.
Experience in ensuring the security of systems by setting up and managing permissions.
Desired:
2 to 4 years of formal education (technical school or university)
Experience in installing and configuring Oracle and MS SQL databases on various operating systems.
Proficiency in monitoring and optimizing database performance.
Additional Requirements:
Work Location: Onsite in Regina, Saskatchewan (with potential for occasional offsite work with 4 weeks' notice)
