Job Summary:

Client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Manager to oversee critical projects, including the AMI Upgrade Project and the CROW Generation project. The Project Manager will be responsible for planning, executing, and finalizing projects according to strict deadlines and within budget. This1 role demands a professional with a strong background in managing complex, enterprise-level system implementations, preferably within Operations Control Rooms.


Major Responsibilities:

  • Project Management Services are responsible for coordinating activities. The ultimate objective is to ensure that assigned projects are successfully tracked, reported on and implemented on time and on budget, meeting or exceeding customer expectation.

  • This service will be delivered using client’s Project Management framework and templates.


Deliverables/Quality of Service:

  • Documentation that is agreed to by the client and supports the IT Governance model.

  • Regular project status reports.

  • Properly skilled staff (both certified PMP and experienced in project management).

  • Delivery of assigned project (key milestones and project deliverables).


Education & Certifications

 Project Management Professional (PMP) or Prince 2 certification

 Demonstrated record of continuous improvement


Key Activities

Project Management Request

 Develop and provide project governance (structure, roles, etc.)

 Prepare project proposals and estimates, as appropriate, to include cost, ongoing maintenance support requirements, risk, alternatives, and recommendations, with specific references to any variances to Client standards.

 Work with Project Management services to tailor project management process, as required (“right size”).

 Coordinate activities within client business units.

 Coordinate activities within Contractor Service Delivery Teams.

Integration Management

 Responsible and accountable to comply with established project management process, tools, and templates.

 Develop Project Charter.

 Use Earned Value Management tools or techniques (CPI/SPI).

 Prepare estimates/proposals for cost and timing of the project.

 Maintain the performance measurement baselines.

 Monitor and control project work.

 Direct and manage project execution.

 Ensure Configuration management for technical and administrative areas, as it pertains to the project.

 Manage integrated change control of the project.

Project Planning

 Develop Project Plan (Project Execution Plan ‐ PEP) as derived from WBS, scope baselines, project schedule and cost estimates.

 Submit PEP for review by Project Sponsor, and others as required.

Project Execution

 Conduct Project Plan execution.

 Coordinate the design, build, test, and as appropriate, pilot, integrate and install technology components to verify that the new installation does not cause unexpected negative impact to the existing infrastructure or environment.

 Conduct regular status review meetings (as per client standards or as part of PEP).

 Provide regular reports on progress and issues.

Scope Management

 Ensure compliance with applicable Health and Safety and other regulatory requirements.

 Conduct scope planning, definition, verification and scope change control, including change request documentation.

 Develop work breakdown structures (WBS).

Risk Management

 Conduct and document risk management planning, risk identification, qualitative risk analysis, risk response planning, and risk monitoring and control.

 Maintain and report the project risks.

Cost Management

 Document the business benefits from the business users to be used in the development of the business case.

 Coordinate subject matter experts to provide cost estimates.

 Measure and report schedule and cost performance using Earned Value Management tools or techniques.

 Conduct cost control and manage budgetary change requests.

 Prepare monthly accruals and monthly / year by budget forecasts.

 Issue a project closure document indicating financial closure of project work.

Time Management

 Conduct activity definition, sequencing, duration estimating, schedule development, and schedule control.

 Document project schedule with critical path identified.

 Management of schedule change requests.

 Conduct monthly progress monitoring and reporting.

 Procurement Management

 Coordinate recommendations on vendor selection.

 Plan and coordinate procurement planning, solicitation planning, solicitation, source selection, contract administration and contract closeout.

 Coordinate vendor selection recommendations to client for selection.

 Perform supplier management

 Track suppliers against agreed deliverables.

 Manage Client contract staff as it relates to projects.

Quality Management

 Coordinate quality planning, assurance and control.

 Perform overall project quality control.

 Ensure project deliverable meets quality specifications.

 Ensure business testers execute and accept user acceptance testing.

 Manage the collection and resolution of items in the defect log.

Human Resource Management

 Work with appropriate resources to conduct organizational planning, staff acquisition, and team development.

 Plan the human resources/staff management plan based on resource availability.

 When required, work with supervisors and team leads to resolve resourcing and availability issues.

 Organize and manage an effective project team.

Communication Management

 Prepare a Communications plan.

 Submit Organization Change Management plan to client for approval.

 Participate in project Steering Committee as required.

 Contribute to identifying lessons learned.
