About the Role
Requirements
NGIT's client is seeking an experienced Windows Deskside Analyst. This role involves complex work
related to the support, and management of Windows enterprise desktop environments. This role is
responsible for supporting desktops & laptops; managing standardized desktop images; managing
windows application packages; deploying driver & BIOS updates; and ensuring that desktop environments are stable, secure, and up to date. The role will also be responsible for management,
support and deployment of Meeting and Collaboration Spaces at client with Microsoft Teams
certified hardware. In addition, the role is responsible for supporting the firmware, and standard
configuration of the managed enterprise print environment.
This person will also be responsible for researching and providing recommendations on technical
solutions as they relate to client’s Windows desktop environment. client’s desktop environment consists over 1500 endpoints including, 1000 laptops, 250 desktops, and 300 semi-rugged notebooks based on Windows 10/11 Enterprise edition, and Microsoft 365 Apps for enterprise.
Client's mobile workforce environment and consists of multi-vendor contract resources operating in a pool concept where resources are utilized across varying projects and operational areas based on skills and abilities, with a goal of providing the most efficient and effective support to the
business.
Description of Requirements
Typical activities in this role include but are not limited to:
Provide Tier 2 & 3 Deskside Support for user endpoints, including desktops and laptops.
Create and maintain standardized Windows Images.
Manage Windows applications packages and task sequences per workstation persona.
Deploy driver updates, BIOS updates for a range of models, maintain configuration
baselines and prevent configuration drift.
Manage, support, and maintain AV Equipment, Meeting & Collaboration Spaces with focus
on Microsoft Teams Room (MTR) Certified Hardware.
Manage and support Papercut Enterprise print management solution.
Manage, deploy, and maintain firmware & configuration of 120+ Enterprise Printer & MFP.
Assist with testing and deployment of Microsoft updates (patch Tuesdays).
Implement Windows Desktop group policies for an enterprise environment.
Troubleshoot and work through complex technical issues.
Develop and maintain good documentation.
Provide assistance and mentorship as required.
Knowledge share/transfer.
Ideally the resource will have:
Desktop & Laptop Computer Configuration, Troubleshooting & Repair Windows 10/11 Technical Experience
Experience supporting Microsoft 365 Apps for Enterprise (Microsoft Office Suite of products)
Experience with Workstation Group Policy
Experience with managing, maintaining standardized endpoint images, driver & firmware
updates.
Experience with supporting and managing Microsoft Teams Rooms (MTR) Certified hardware.
Experience supporting corporate AV meeting rooms & Collaboration spaces.
Enterprise Printer Fleet Management, Firmware Updates, Configuration
Experience with working with VMs (VMWare ESXi)
Experience with deploying Microsoft SCCM imaging & software installation.
Experience with maintaining hardware and software inventories through standard asset
management systems and procedures.
Ideally the resource will have:
CompTIA A+ or equivalent experience
Basic knowledge of network troubleshooting Ethernet and IP configuration
Experience with Lenovo Desktops & Notebooks
Experience with Panasonic Ruggedized Toughbook’s
Experience with PowerShell Scripting
Mandatory Requirements:
Resource must have minimum 8 years experience supporting a large scale (1000+ endpoints), mission critical enterprise in a 24x7 operating environment.
Resource must be able to work and be located full-time on site at client's Head Office in
Regina, Monday to Friday 8 am to 5 pm.
Resource must be able to lift packages of up to 25 lbs.
